Two weeks backpacking across Ireland and Northern Ireland in the summer of 2013 : a lot less rain than we expected, beautiful landscapes and surprisingly good food.
After landing in Dublin, we headed towards Belfast and Northern Ireland. The city still has scars of the past religious riots. Some neighborhoods still close at night to keep the city peaceful.
We decided to go couch-surfing , first time for the three of us. Our host happened to be an evangelist priest who had a lot of spare space in his house now that his three boys had gone to college. To this day, I have not met a more generous and genuinely kind person. Not only did he welcomed us in his house with open arms., he showed us around, took us to a restaurant and spent so much time speaking and sharing with us. A truly memorable and inspiring encounter !
We went to the Giants’ Causeway, one of world’s most outstanding natural sites. The road to go there is simply breathtaking.
The bus is our best friend !
Then we spent a few days in the Ring of Kerry among sheeps and poneys.
And we ended our trip in Dublin. We spent a few days there and although we liked the atmosphere, we thought that more than three days would have been too much.
We loved our two weeks there, Ireland is such a beautiful country and if you are still not convinced, check the video I made.
Thank you for your nice comment. Ireland is beautiful, you should definitely give it a try.
